High Country

I guess you could say snakes remind me of dinosaurs in a way and who wouldn't want to own something prehistoric! I've always been interested in snakes. I love the mysticism and beauty of them.

 

I bought my first snake, a Garter Snake, for a quarter off an Irish exchange student when I was about 9 - I was hooked!!

 

After that, my friends and I would spend countless hours hunting around lakes, abandoned farm houses, grain elevators, junkyards, alleys, ponds, creeks -you name it!  We hunted snakes all summer long!

 

Through the years, like all things, my interest in snakes waned and it would not be until my mid 20's that my passion for them would rekindle and take a firm hold!

 

During the "pre-internet" days of the early nineties, i would get price lists from dealers like Bob Clark, Peter Kahl and Tom Crutchfield mailed to me. The only publication that you could get these from was Reptiles magazine. I would spend a lot of my time drooling over my price lists, going to pet stores, reading "Reptiles" and dreaming of making a living out of breeding and keeping snakes. After owning Boas, Ball Pythons and Burmese pythons, I finally was able to save enough money to purchase my first neonate Green Tree Pythons.

 

Needless to say, I knew owning these animals would always be part of my lifestyle. 

 

Since then, I have established a personal collection of Green Tree Pythons, Ball Pythons and Dwarf Retics, out of the pure joy of keeping them.

It was only natural my next step would be breeding them and making them available to the public
